1. MagicPlan Setup - How to duplicate a project

You may need to create a new copy of a project. If you re-export it to AccuRate it will overwrite the existing project, including any modelling work already completed. The best process is to duplicate the project in magicplan and re-export. Below are the instructions:

 

On Mobile (iOS & Android)

1. Open magicplan – Launch the magicplan app on your mobile device and log in to your account.
2. Access Your Projects – Navigate to the list of projects by selecting the “Projects” tab.
3. Select the Project to Duplicate – Locate the project you want to copy and tap on it.
4. Open Project Options – Tap on the three-dot menu (⋮) or “More” options within the project details.
5. Choose “Duplicate” – Select the “Duplicate” option from the menu.
6. Rename the Copy – Enter a new name for the duplicated project to differentiate it from the original.
7. Confirm and Save – Tap “OK” or “Save” to create the duplicate.

Q: Can I duplicate a project with all its images and annotations?
A: Yes, duplicating a project retains all floor plans, annotations, and attached images.

Q: If I change the name and reexport without duplicating will this create a new project in AccuRate

A: No it will overwrite the existing project and the user will lose any changes they have made. 

Q: Does duplicating a project affect the original?
A: No, the original project remains unchanged, and the duplicate is an independent copy.

Q: Why don’t I see the “Duplicate” option?
A: Ensure you are using the latest version of magicplan and that your account has the necessary permissions.

Q: Can I duplicate a project across different accounts?
A: No, duplication is only possible within the same account. However, you can export and import projects manually if needed.
